Small human pilot work and registered clinical research now exist, but do not establish a clinical effect in people. FDA's July 2026 PCAC briefing evaluated BPC-157-related bulk substances for a nominated ulcerative-colitis use and documented evidence and safety gaps. That advisory-stage record supports scrutiny; it is not a final FDA determination.
