The Peptide Field. VIP peptide: approval and research record. Review date: 2026-09-12. Dataset version: 2026-09-11.1. https://thepeptidefield.com/peptides/vip Lookup: https://thepeptidefield.com/peptide-evidence-checker?peptide=vip#result This is a dated summary, not a live FDA check or independent medical review. It does not recommend treatment or verify a product in hand. Status: Human physiology and a clinical trial have been studied; product approval needs a separate current check Product limits: VIP is a natural body signal. Aviptadil is synthetic VIP studied as a defined intravenous research treatment. An FDA substance record or orphan designation is not approval of a finished drug. Neither record shows that a compounded or online product matches the trial material. Health results in people: Limited. A 196-person aviptadil trial in critical COVID-19 respiratory failure missed its prespecified day-60 primary endpoint. Other trial results do not prove a treatment benefit. Body changes in people: Limited. A 12-person healthy-volunteer study measured a short vascular response and delayed headache during and after VIP infusion. What research shows: In 12 healthy volunteers, a two-hour VIP infusion widened a head artery and increased mild delayed headache. This measured a short body response, not a health benefit. A randomized trial studied intravenous aviptadil in 196 people with critical COVID-19 respiratory failure. Its main result was whether people were alive and free from respiratory failure at day 60. That primary result did not reach statistical significance. Some other results favored aviptadil, but they do not make the main result a success. Still unknown: These studies do not show that VIP treats COVID-19, lung disease, gut disease, or aging. The trial did not test other routes or products. The FDA records checked here identify aviptadil and two orphan designations. Both designation records say the named orphan indication was not FDA approved. Those records do not establish the approval status of every possible product or use. They also do not show that an online or compounded item matches the trial material. Safety limits: This page gives no dose, injection, sourcing, product-selection, or treatment advice. A short study response does not prove long-term safety or benefit. Ask a licensed clinician about personal care. Approval statement checked: “An FDA aviptadil substance record or orphan designation is drug approval.” Result: Misleading. A substance record identifies a substance. The two checked FDA orphan records state that the named orphan indications were not approved. Neither record approves a finished product. What this answer is based on: Regulatory or product record. Applies to: The exact FDA records checked September 12, 2026; this is not a complete product-level approval search.
