Status: FDA-approved products exist for specific indications

Exact product limits: The ingredient name alone does not tell you which approved product the evidence covers. Liraglutide is an active ingredient. Victoza and Saxenda are distinct approved products with different labeled indications and product-specific prescribing information.

Human outcomes: Strong. Large randomized programs support defined glycemic, cardiovascular, and weight-management outcomes.

Body effects in people: Strong. Approved labels characterize product-specific exposure, pharmacodynamics, and interactions.

What the evidence shows: Studies and FDA-reviewed labels support specific outcomes. LEADER studied heart and blood-vessel outcomes in adults with type 2 diabetes at high cardiovascular risk. Saxenda has a separate chronic weight-management label.
